- California 2012
A glorious trip to California - with lovely memories made with friends and family all the way from Los Angeles to San Francisco, and some great luck with the weather.
- Rock Creek Park
Fun in the woods. Lots of people and dogs and sunshine.
- Thanksgiving 2011
What a fabulous three days - overtired children notwithstanding.
- Fall 2011
Thanksgiving, soccer, lots of other stuff....The end of the summer included a summer camp run by Natasha and her friend for the neighborhood 5 yr olds. They all did great! First day of school photos also included.
- Soccer
Alex is on two leagues this year and Natasha on one. Not sure how long we'll keep this up but for this season we're committed. Of course most games are rained out it seems....
- Cape August 2011
A perfect Cape Cod vacation as usual. Very lucky with the weather the past two years. Overlapping with friends makes the trip fabulous for everyone.
- Greenstein cousins
- Summer camp
Both kids went to sleep away camp this summer at Camp Twin Creeks in WV. Alex went for 2 weeks and Natasha for a month. They loved it - and why not?
- Who's 40?
- North End with Nana
- July 4th weekend
A perfect July 4th weekend on Cape Cod with friends and Nana.
- Alex's 7th birthday
12 seven year olds playing lots of soccer followed by a hose down and then a soccer dog movie. Lucky boy got a 5 hour birthday celebration! Many parents stayed, lured in by coffee and everything from bagels and lox to watermelon. Fascinating thing was that last year's party was virtually identical except that Dave had to orchestrate the whole soccer game. This year the boys started picking teams and got right to things - no adults necessary.
- California Spring Break
What could be better than a week of friends, family and beaches in California? We really do love the sunshine state. The kids were horrified at leaving and mommy and daddy were barely keeping it together. We had so much fun visiting, relaxing on the beach, eating and generally enjoying ourselves.
- Winter 2011
General fun
- New Year's Weekend
Dog sitting and a trip to the beach. We have our neighbor's dog (And Sophie's best friend) for two days. They were boarded near the beach so we took a little walk before driving home.
- Spain
My darling husband organized a surprise trip to Madrid for just the two of us. It seemed to involve half the people in our lives to take care of the kids and dog, but luckily we have great friends and family. The kids are enjoying time with their cousins, aunt, uncle and grandmother. In fact this whole time away from the kids thing was my brother's idea! We are basically walking and eating. We did see some art and some flamenco dancing.
- Fall 2010
It was a pretty routine fall. No major events but lots of activities. The kids spent a lot of time playing in the neighborhood. Dave spent a lot of time coaching and Jenna spent a lot of time walking the dog.
- Cape Cod 2010
We had an incredible two weeks on Cape Cod this year. The weather was perfect the whole time, we saw tons of friends and the kids had a blast.
- Sleepaway Camp!!
Natasha spent two weeks at sleepaway camp in West Virginia. The camp, called Twin Creeks, employs a full-time videographer and a full time photographer and is able to upload hundreds of photos and a several minute video daily. It really is not your mother's sleepaway camp!

- Spring 2010
Major events were a trip to the Grand Canyon, in a separate album, and of course our newest addition, Sophie!
- Alex's 6th birthday
it was so hot mommy was melting, but the kids played soccer for 3 hours. A little hosing off every now and again and they were good to go. Amazing that I sent the invitations out 9 days before the party and didn't do a stitch of planning until the day before the party and it all turned out ok. I've done enough of these to have the logistics all set and Dave is the consummate kid entertainer. He played soccer and dragged kids under the hoses for hours and hours. After, he retreated to the basement to watch World Cup, I took the kids to Toy Story 3 and Natasha fell asleep at 7:20pm. Alex stayed up until almost 10. Alex is really lucky that his cousins come to most of his birthday parties, making the day extra special.
- Karate 2010
Natasha gets her gold belt.
- Arizona Spring Break
- Nana's 70th Birthday in NY!
All 10 of us met up in the Big Apple for a weekend celebration of Nana's birthday. Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty are on my brother's camera...some day I'll get them. It was a whirlwind weekend heritage tour with 5 kids and a grandma with a cane, but all managed to make it through. Natasha and Alex were allowed a visit to their all-time favorite spot in NY - M & M world in Times Square (at 9pm) and Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken. A Chinese feast in Chinatown as well as many other foods were downed, pizza was had, NY's many parks were explored...Natasha tried to talk me into buying her a black studded dress but I held firm. She's still mad.
- Natasha's gallery 2010
The artist's work is improving! I must come up with a better way of digitizing...all the methods I've tried are horrible.
- Santa arrives in Chevy Chase Hills
The local fire department makes a Santa visit every year. Too bad the kids were asleep. I took a photo to prove that I had met Santa. Natasha made a personal plea to Santa.
- Jenna and Indya before and after
Indya and I have know each other since we were 18 - first day of college. I should find some older photographs but that would require scanning.
Jenna - one year serious dieting/maintenance, down 40 lbs (treated dieting and maintenance very similarly but in actuality 9 months dieting, 3 months maintenance)
Indya - 6 months not-serious dieting, down 15 lbs and 6 months serious dieting, down 30 more lbs.
- December Snow!
- Karate 2009
This newfound passion of the kids seems to be taking over our lives....but they love it. Sorry for the excess of photos but this album is kind of for the kids....
- General Fall 2009
General events, as opposed to the trips which get their own albums.
- Carmel/Big Sur-ALONE!
A perfect weekend away to celebrate a good friend's wedding and our 10th anniversary. Thanks mom!
More to come of the actual wedding but those are on a different camera.
- Natasha's 7th Birthday
The Big Day Natasha turns 7 and gets her ears pierced.
- General Summer 2009
We spent July 4th weekend at an adorable town called, Berkeley Springs in West Virginia. The natural springs are lovely and the scenery was beautiful. We all loved getting away and the new place even took our minds off of not being at the Cape. Natasha made a friend at the Best Western so we had to follow her around a bunch but then we met some lovely people from Kensington and hung out with them at a state park. Alex was particularly excited to see George Washington's bathtub at the oldest spa in America.
- Cape 2009
Words cannot describe this place! I'll add captions over time.
- Alex's 5th Birthday Party
Star Wars themed and very successful. Not too many kids, perfect weather, just the right amount of activities, helpful parent-guests. Additional photos at the end are of further birthday fun with cousins and neighbors - no extra parties just leftover light sabers - foam and pretzels!
- General Spring 2009
Visits and activities from Spring 2009. So far, a playdate with the older Panner kids and a fantastic visit from Jill, Dan, Alice and Saul. Nober cousins came into town and Alex got a bike ride. A busy weekend!
- General Winter 2009
It was a quiet winter, free from major illness, thank goodness, but we didn't do too much anyway. Some highlights below....a visit with Betsey's adorable cousin Charlie, who is about to graduate from the Naval Academy. Neighborhood sledding on a snow day, a trip to Chinatown for Chinese New Year.
- Inauguration Events
This is the first set of photos. In the first video you can hear U2. We were far away! In the second video you can see the crowd and how mobbed it was. We were in a good spot for viewing the live event but kind of between the live sound and the jumbotron sound which is why you may hear an echo.
- iPhone Photos
- Early Winter 2008
Hanukkah and other December activities at the end of 2008.
- Fall 2008
Natasha FINALLY started Kindergarten. She was so excited. Alex started a full-day pre-k. Mommy is happy! Due to a bus problem, Natasha didn't get home until almost 5pm! Alex and Lilly and Hallie played on our neighbor's front yard while waiting for the school bus. The kids finally got dropped off at the wrong place, but Natasha seemed happy enough.
- Cape Cod 2008
We took two family and friend-filled vacations to Cape Cod - one over July 4th and another in August.
- Summer 2008
- Spring 2008
Some spring activities. Alex has not taken off his Power Rangers costume since we bought it, so these pictures were actually taken over several days. Some shots of downtown Bethesda, and the bike trail, both of which we make good use of when the weather is nice.
- Winter 2008
Some fun with the camera timer and flying off the couch. Also, putting out a fire in the family room, a valentine's day cake and a warm February day with Lily and Hallie.
- Winter 2007
General winter activities during December.
- Thanksgiving 2007
A traditional Thanksgiving weekend.
- Halloween 2007
Neighborhood Halloween party and pre-party festivities.
- Fall general shots 2007
General fun, Hershey Park, a trip to Boston.
- Cape Cod vacation
We had a fabulous vacation on Cape Cod in August. We were able to see what seemed like thousands of friends and family. Some of what was not captured were the stops in NY and Amherst on the way there and back. In those places we saw Melissa and her new baby Ben, Judy and Jonny in Brooklyn, Stacey and her family, and the biggest hit of all, new puppy Gus, the Knightlys, including John and Flora, and a late night visit for ice cream with the Kohlers on Ash Lane. We were able to reconnect with so many people and places that it was indeed quite hard to go back to Washington, especially with the Nobers gone. Luckily Nana was here to welcome us back and we now have some great friends here too.
- Summer 2007
We had a long slow summer with a fantastic three week vacation at the end. The Cape is SO far from Washington!

- Jenna's before and after gallery
These are painful for me to look at but lots of people have asked for them. In some I obviously have a baby or am pregnant. But there are so many others! I didn't make these all that big - it takes too long to upload.
- Journal
This is where I take some time to reflect on our lives, and especially the growth and development of the kids.
- Natasha's Gallery
This gallery is an attempt to capture the crazy-adorable creativity that only young children possess. I would love to show this to her when she's 17! More to be added soon.
